Dancers Rising is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the community to improve the arts and education. We are committed to leveling the playing field in both dance education and higher education for all student dancers so that they will have an equal opportunity to succeed.
Currently, we are running a three-year pilot program in Dakota and Hennepin Counties (and surrounding areas) in Minnesota working with high school students in underserved communities to provide opportunities for dance training and access to colleges and universities.
Dancers Rising’s mission is to enable equal access to high-quality dance education and higher education to dancers and aspiring dancers so they will have an equal opportunity to succeed.
We believe that dance transcends barriers and has the power to inspire and motivate people. Our goal is to use dance and education to promote the arts, to foster diversity in dance, to reduce the achievement and opportunity gaps that exist in our underserved communities, and to empower our next generation of leaders to lead and make our communities a better place to live.
We offer high quality dance education programs and college preparation and readiness services to dancers, with a focus on students in underserved communities. As part of our core programs, we provide needs-based dance scholarships, college preparation programs and independent college counseling services to high school student dancers.
